Origin of Fale Polynesia - Fresno
Continuing the journey of Lokelani’s ROTI, Fale Polynesia humbly took root in May 2024 in Fresno, California. After traveling the world to places such as Hawaiʻi, Tahiti, Canada, France, Mexico, and England, co-directors ʻOfaloto Kumā and Kanani Asuega felt called to bring their lifelong dream to life. Rooted in deep respect and lived experience, Fale Polynesia was created as a space to authentically share their love for Polynesian culture, dance, and heritage. Through teaching, storytelling, and community, they strive to honor the traditions of their ancestors while nurturing the next generation of dancers and cultural practitioners.
